The connecting fittings are dedicated to the connection of various bare wires and lightning protection lines. This type of metal fitting bears the same electrical load as the wire, and at the same time, most of the connecting fittings also bear the full tension of the wire or the lightning conductor. Continuous metal fittings generally require good electrical conductivity and mechanical properties such as grip strength and tensile strength.
After the connection of the fittings, it should be satisfied:
(1) The mechanical strength of the connecting point shall be not less than 90% of the breaking force of the connected wire;
(2) The resistance of the connection point shall not be greater than the resistance of the connected length conductor;
(3) When the continuous point is at the rated voltage and the maximum load current is passed for a long time, the temperature rise shall not exceed the temperature rise of the wire.
