In the second half of 2010, Samsung TV market LED TV shipment penetration rate will reach 20~30%
With more and more manufacturers joining, 90% of Samsung's new models launched in Taiwan in 2010 will use LED backlight design. Taiwan's Samsung estimates that the penetration rate of LED-backlit TV shipments in the Taiwan market in the second half of 2010 will reach 20~30%, and the annual penetration rate is estimated to be 10%.
In 2009, Samsung's market share in Taiwan's LCD TV market was not high. In terms of shipments, the market share was still below 10%. However, Taiwan's Samsung estimates that with the launch of new products, Samsung's product line in Taiwan will be more complete in 2010. In the fourth quarter, Samsung's market share in Taiwan's LCD TV market is expected to grow to 17-20%.
