OSRAM Opto Semiconductors' Golden Dragon ARGUS LEDs can be used for backlighting 32- to 82-inch LCD panels. The product incorporates OSRAM's ARGUS lens and thin film Golden Dragon LED to provide uniform backlighting and high-brightness illumination for displays. The Golden Dragon ARGUS illuminator integrates four thin-film LEDs (2 green, 1 blue and 1 red) in a package size of only 4 mm. Multiple devices can be expanded in a honeycomb or array. Highlight lighting system. The 32- to 82-inch large-size display backlighting system based on the above LEDs does not require active heat dissipation even at high output. The product has been tested for vibration and shock and has a lifetime of over 50,000 hours. It is also free of lead and mercury and is RoHS compliant. Golden DRAGON ARGUS will be available in January 2006 and will be available in white, red, green and blue. The product is now available for trial sale. Each set (with 1 red, 1 blue and 2 green Golden Dragon ARGUS) is priced at $18 (for reference only).
