OmniVision unveiled the latest member of its HD medical image sensor family, the OH01A, at the MD&M East in New York on June 11. The OH01A uses the PureCel ® -S stacked chip architecture to meet the needs of next-generation disposable and reusable endoscopes and catheters, including small size, high resolution and cost effective. The OH01A is the world's first medical image sensor to deliver 1280 x 800 resolution and 60 frame rate per second in a 2.5 x 1.5mm package size.
These characteristics of OH01A make it an ideal imaging solution for many diagnostic endoscopic procedures, including airway management (esophageal examination, laryngoscopy, thoracoscopy, pleuroscopic, bronchoscopy, mediastinoscopy) and urology (intrauterine kidney) Mirror) applications, etc.

The OH01A has a 1/11-inch optical size, 1.1 micron pixels and raw data output. It offers 1280 x 800 resolution and can be adjusted to 720p HD display (16:9 aspect ratio) or 800 x 800 square display. Both modes operate at a frame rate of 60 per second, and the image is clear and jitter free. The sensor's PureCel-S stacked pixel architecture delivers the highest quality images while improving sensitivity, full well capacity, no halo and low color crosstalk.
The OH01A image sensor is also suitable for stereoscopic display applications. The two OH01A can run simultaneously to provide 3D images for the surgical procedure. The power consumption is also reduced by 25% compared to the previous generation of medical image sensors, making the tip temperature of the endoscope lower and making the patient more comfortable. In a small module, a 32-degree high principal ray angle provides a wider range of vision, allowing shorter hard endoscope tips to be used to make the bend radius tighter.
The OH01A supports MIPI and secondary-LVDS output interfaces for long-distance transmission of image data. It also integrates one-time programmable (OTP) memory for storing production and calibration information.
OH01A can be used for high pressure processing of circulating equipment and disinfection of disposable equipment.
