China's energy resources and power load distribution are extremely uneven. Li Lizhen introduced that in the past, China used the ±500 kV high-voltage direct current transmission technology studied abroad to solve the problem of long-distance transmission. With the development of hydropower such as Xiangjiaba and Xiluodu in the lower reaches of the Jinsha River, nearly 40 million kilowatts of hydropower needs long distance. Efficient delivery.

He believes that the technology of AC transmission scheme is not feasible. The ±500 kV DC transmission scheme covers a large area, has high losses, and is uneconomical. China has proposed the development of UHV ±800 kV DC technology with large transmission capacity, long transmission distance and high transmission efficiency.

The UHV ±800 kV DC transmission project brings significant economic and social benefits. Li Lizhen said that its transmission capacity is two or three times that of ±500 kV DC project, the economic transportation distance is increased to 2-2.5 times, the operational reliability is increased by 8 times, the unit transportation distance loss is reduced by 45%, and the unit capacity line corridor is occupied. The ground reduction is 30%, and the unit capacity cost is reduced by 28%.

UHV DC transmission technology is recognized as the world's leading technology in the world. At present, only China fully grasps this technology and has begun large-scale engineering applications. In 2010, China independently built the Yunnan-Guangdong, Xiangjiaba-Shanghai UHV ±800 kV DC demonstration project. By the end of 2017, a total of 12 UHV DC transmission projects were built nationwide, with an annual transmission capacity of more than 450 billion kWh. At the same time, a large amount of renewable energy in China is generated from the west and needs to be transported to the east from a long distance. China is expected to build 20 UHV DC transmission projects around 2030.

The project also has broad application prospects internationally. In Brazil, for example, Brazil's electricity load is relatively concentrated, 80% is distributed in developed areas in the south and southeast, and power transmission in the Amazonian river basin, which is the most abundant in northern Brazil, is difficult. Shu Yinbiao, chairman of the State Grid Corporation of China, said that the Meishan project successfully achieved the goal of “going out” of China's UHV transmission technology, marking that China's UHV transmission technology, specifications and standards have officially entered the global application stage. The successful operation of the Brazilian project proves that China's UHV technology and the “China Program” can effectively solve the current imbalance of power development in Brazil and promote the green development of Brazil's energy economy.

The export of UHV core technology has driven the development of the upstream and downstream industrial chain of power equipment and realized the dual output of technology and equipment. At present, relevant cooperation is under negotiation; Central Asia is rich in energy resources, and long-distance large-capacity transmission requires UHV DC transmission technology.

Li Lizhen, Rao Hong and other respondents believe that our UHV transmission technology has created many records in terms of technical theory, mechanism, engineering construction and equipment manufacturing capabilities.
