James Peng introduced the achievements of Baidu’s unmanned vehicles in this year: centimetres of high-precision maps and positioning. Baidu has already achieved less than 5cm in high-precision positioning and is close to 3cm; based on 3D perception of deep learning, lidar is in 1 300,000 points are given in seconds. Through deep learning, obstacles can be identified through points. The perception of complex road conditions for urban roads: the accuracy of pedestrian detection exceeds 95%, and the accuracy of traffic light recognition exceeds 99.9%; KITTI vehicle detection ranking The world's first; driving control can be achieved until the error is less than 10cm, and traffic prediction based on deep learning can greatly increase security.
Baidu's current situation of any test will be stored on the cloud through the end, such as simulation of small towns, traffic flow simulation, safe onboard operating systems and P-level processing capabilities of the data platform to ensure communication security and compliance with international norms. Baidu now does multi-sensor fusion. The camera has blind spots in the case of reflective light, but adding laser radar and millimeter-wave radar can fill up when a sensor appears short board, which can avoid similar Tesla accidents.
James Peng said that in order to bridge this gap, Baidu needs to collaborate with various companies and move into LEVEL4 as soon as possible. He said: "In theory, the machine is safer than people.
