OPPO sales surpass Huawei's Apple market in China for the first time

On July 26th, the US East time data research showed that OPPO surpassed Apple, Huawei and Xiaomi for the first time, and ranked first with a market share of 22.9%.

The data shows that in the domestic mobile phone market ranking in June, the top six are OPPO, Huawei, VIVO, Apple, Xiaomi and Samsung. OPPO's market share increased by 16.8% year-on-year, of which R9 is the best-selling mobile phone model in June. Neil Shah, director of the Counterpoint Survey Center, said OPPO's rapid growth was mainly due to its offline marketing channel, which contributed about 70% of sales. At the same time, the aggressive sales strategy, the penetration of the second and third tier cities in the mainland and the novel design are the reasons for the rapid rise of OPPO in the past 18 months.

Neil Shah also pointed out: "OPPO's focus on industrial design and mobile phone features such as cameras, batteries and materials has helped it maintain its edge market and win customer attention in the face of many competitors, especially below 25 Young group of young people."

OPPO is a brand of BBK (13.600, 0.00, 0.00%), and its other brand VIVO also performed very well in June, accounting for 12% of the market, up 4.7% year-on-year, ranking third. Xiaomi and Samsung shrank 8.3% and 2.7% respectively, and Huawei, the first company, shrank by 3.4%. Apple has shrunk by 4.2%, returning to the level of the Chinese market in 2014.

Since last year, OPPO and VIVO have been one of the few mobile phone brands in China that are growing faster. Peter Richardson, another research director at Counterpoint, said: "The growth of OPPO and VIVO is impressive. It is also worth noting that there is a trend in the Chinese mobile phone market, and the leading brands will maintain their market share for some time."
