Based on this consideration, the Chinese government officially announced the TDD spectrum planning plan for the first time during the "World Telecom Expo 2012", announcing that the 2.6-2 GHz frequency band 2500-2690 Hz and all 190 MHz frequency resources will be planned as TDD spectrum.
Yang Hua believes that China's allocation of sufficient spectrum resources to TD-LTE will become the most fundamental guarantee and foundation for large-scale development of TD-LTE, and will also inject momentum into the global development of TD-LTE.

However, the 2.6 GHz band planned for the TDD spectrum has its limitations. Shu Huaying, a professor at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, pointed out that the 2.6GHz frequency band belongs to the microwave frequency band, and microwave communication is a line-of-sight line-of-sight communication method due to its high frequency and short wavelength. Increasing the cost of future network coverage for operators will also increase the technical requirements for equipment manufacturers and mobile terminal manufacturers.
"From a technical point of view, the high frequency band is not conducive to network coverage, but the key to the problem is not here, but the application scenario of wireless broadband. From the perspective of scenario application, the high frequency spectrum is more suitable for data transmission within a visible distance." Yang Hua explained that in the early stages of TD-LTE network coverage, data traffic application scenarios will mainly occur in densely populated areas of the city and in highly commercialized areas. In these areas, a small coverage radius is required to ensure that users ’high data traffic is met .
Yang Hua believes that if you want to achieve greater continuous coverage, you need to have frequency band resources below 1GHz. According to reports, the relevant national departments are currently doing coordination and communication work. Before TD-LTE is officially commercialized on a large scale, there must be low-frequency spectrum resources to support its commercial development.
Yang Hua also introduced that the overall planning of spectrum resources will directly promote the development and maturity of TD-LTE systems, chips and terminal industries. It is understood that from the end of 2012 to the first half of 2013, TD-LTE terminal products will also be dominated by data cards, etc. In the second half of 2013, user-friendly testing of TD-LTE smartphones will appear one after another.
