CSA to Deploy Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong LED Testing and Certification Laboratory in China

The reporter learned from the press conference of the new LED testing and certification laboratory of CSA Shanghai, an international testing and certification agency, that the agency will form three major LED test and certification laboratories in Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong and radiate throughout China.

The LED testing and certification laboratory set up in Shanghai yesterday and the newly expanded product evaluation and consulting center will facilitate the product testing of manufacturers in East China and facilitate the export of products in the region. The lab is one of the three LED labs planned by CSA in China. Besides meeting safety testing requirements, it will also provide energy-saving, performance, and life-cycle services. The other two are the Guangzhou Lab, which has already been opened, and the Hong Kong Lab, which will be opened on January 16.

The new Shanghai laboratory is located in Qilai Industrial City, covering 2,600 square meters. Laboratory product testing covers LED lighting products, heating appliances, electric motors and appliances, power tools and garden tools, welding products, IT accessories and equipment, and power supply equipment. The laboratory will test according to Canada, the United States and other international standards. The expanded product evaluation and consulting center will be able to test product categories such as gas equipment, bathroom plumbing products, lawn and garden related products, home appliances, and electrical equipment. In terms of LEDs, energy star testing for energy saving and lighting products is available.

CSA Group is an independent, non-profit membership organization. Its three branches are CSA Standards, CSA International and OnSpeX. At present, CSA has published more than 75 categories of standards covering renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, and geothermal systems.
