Billerica, Mass.--2009.3.11 - GE Sensing Inspection Technologies (NYSE:GE) announced that it has formally signed a contract with PureChoice, Inc. of Burnsville, Minnesota. In this contract, as part of PureChoice's PureTrac® software for managing building performance, GE Sensing Inspection Technologies will provide PureChoice with up to 50,000 dual-channel CO2 sensors. The PureTrac system can provide a simple, cost-effective solution for existing buildings without affecting indoor air quality and without additional equipment modifications, achieving energy savings of 15% to 20%.

In the next 18 months, GE Sensing Inspection Technologies will provide PureChoice with 50,000 CO2 sensors for the company's Nose® monitor. The Nose® Monitor is a compact, automated data acquisition and analysis platform that measures indoor air quality-related parameters for any application indoors. The microprocessor controls the operation of all sensors, including thermal regulation, initial setup and calibration, conversion of measurement data to engineering units, digital communications and data transfer. All of the Nose monitors include a miniature inner circulation fan. The fan updates the air inside the monitor several times every minute to ensure the correctness of the sensor readings. All sensors are mounted on a circuit board and housed in a well-designed, durable thermoplastic molding frame.
