Hon Hai's sapphire substrate plant Xinjing drilling joint loan 2.8 billion Taiwan dollars expansion capacity
[High-tech LED News] Taiwan's Hon Hai Group (2317)'s sapphire substrate factory Xinjing Diamond (5231) is actively expanding its production capacity. In order to obtain the funds needed for the next phase of operation and development, it has completed a joint lending of NT$2.8 billion in Taiwan.
According to statistics from a research institute in Taiwan, the global supply of sapphire substrates last year was 37.85 million pieces, and the demand was 42.4 million pieces. This year, the supply of sapphire substrates will increase to 59 million pieces, which is still insufficient to meet the demand of 72.1 million pieces. This year, we will continue to expand production capacity to meet market demand.
Xinjing Drill said that it will cooperate with international big companies in the near future. It is expected that all equipment installation and trial production will be completed in Q1 next year, and Q2 will start mass production. By then, the annual production capacity will be greatly improved, and it is expected to challenge the top three in the world.
Founded in 2007, Xinjing Diamond has a complete production line of sapphire crystal growth and sapphire material components. It is one of the few sapphire materials and processing plants in Taiwan for single crystal synthesis, orientation, cutting, drill pipe and grinding. The main products are sapphire single crystal rods for LED substrates, sapphire single crystal rods for semiconductor substrates and sapphire single crystal module blanks of various shapes and sizes.
