As part of the Wolfson image processing portfolio, the WM8232, WM8233, WM8234, and WM8235 process and digitize analog signals output from charge-coupled devices (CCDs) or contact image sensors (CIS). They offer a variety of channels and analog-to-digital conversion (ADC) configurations that allow system designers to choose the configuration that best suits their purpose. For the user, this means higher scan speeds when getting higher scan resolutions, while its flexible architecture makes it easier for engineers to design these products into their systems, speeding up the design process.

Nigel Burgess, product line manager for Wolfson Microelectronics' image processing, computing and entertainment solutions, said: "These new analog front-end products offer a range of highly flexible solutions that can be easily integrated into the latest digital copies, scanners and Multi-function printers. With these solutions, designers can choose from a range of available configurations to enable end users to get the best results from their image processing equipment in their home or office."

The four new image processing devices will be available in samples starting in August and will be packaged in a 56-pin QFN package.
