Japan has developed LED lighting that can be used in explosive atmospheres

On April 25, 2011, IDEC Japan has listed LED lighting products that can be used in explosive environments. This product has a pressure explosion-proof structure and is mainly used in semiconductor manufacturing plants and petrochemical plants.

The company said that the new product's pressure explosion-proof performance is "EF1A type" and can be used in the presence of "1 zone" of explosive gases such as hydrogen and acetylene. Zone 1 refers to sites where explosive gases may normally accumulate, and places where leakage and accumulation may occur during repair and maintenance. By using an acid-resistant aluminum alloy container having an anodized film formed on its surface, the corrosion resistance is improved.
