FANUC 7 system
The FANUC 7 system includes two series, 7 T and 7 M. Among them, 7 T system is suitable for two-coordinate CNC lathes, and 7 M is suitable for three-coordinate milling machines, boring and milling machines and machining centers. The 7 M system is taken as an example to illustrate its working principle.
1. System hardware structure
7 M takes the central processing unit (CPU) as the core. The CPU is connected to the memory and various interfaces through the bus. The overall block diagram is shown in Figure 3-51.

2. FANUC 7 system software structure
The system software of the 7 M CNC device is composed of a 22 K control program (20 K for the three-coordinate two-coordinated system), a 4 K CRT control program and a diagnostic program (input by a dedicated diagnostic paper tape).
The main function of the initialization program is to prepare for the normal work of the entire system. After booting, the "current status" of the "level 6 interrupt" is placed in the "current status register" through the "initialization microprogram" so that interrupts other than the level 7 interrupt cannot interrupt the initialization. At the same time, during the execution phase of the "initialization microprogram", the program is transferred to the "initialization program". Therefore, the "initialization program" is executed first after each boot. After entering the initialization program, the system puts the first address of the protection area of ​​the 0th level interrupt into the first address of the 6th level of the protection area, which causes the 6th level to interrupt the state of the 0th level, so that the initialization returns to the 0th level Level interrupt.
The initialization procedure mainly completes the following three tasks:
(1) Set the initial state for the unit in RAM as a working register.
(2) Perform ROM parity check.
(3) Set some required initial states for NC machining to proceed normally. Belonging to this initial state setting are part program memory area setting, AS area initial setting, and so on. Perform the necessary initial processing on some parameters set by the TE sub-mode (setting parameters). For example, the value of the rapid feed rate is converted from mm / min to um / 8ms. If you press some specific keys while turning on the machine, you can also perform additional operations.
3. Examples of parts processing
Now let's discuss the processing of parts. The processing of the first piece of a new part in the 7M system can be roughly described by the flow shown in Figure 3-58. For the first piece of a new part, it is generally necessary to observe the correctness of the programming through dry run. If there is a mistake, it can be corrected by editing the part program. After the first piece is processed, if the program needs to be saved, it can be worn as a paper tape for later use. Generally speaking, parts program editing and paper output work are not necessary when reprocessing the same kind of parts.
