As a company that produces LEDs, Shenghui Lighting has also begun to participate in lighting projects in Jiaxing. For example, Tongxiang Wuzhen Phase II and downtown Yuehe Street have adopted brilliant products. What is a technology of LED, and what is the difference between it and ordinary lighting?
Shen Jinxiang: LED is a kind of semiconductor light-emitting technology. Its light-emitting principle is completely different from incandescent and energy-saving lamps. It is the convection of electronic materials through PNG.
Electron luminescence has many advantages: no filament, no mercury, it is a wafer, it is more suitable for large-scale production, it can also be controlled by electronic technology, combined into more than 20,000 colors. This advantage is not achieved by ordinary light sources.
Moderator: At present, Shenghui Lighting has two factories, one specializing in the production of halogen lamps, more than 1,200 employees, and is a national high-tech enterprise; the other is the LED factory with more than 500 employees. The company's total assets reached 180 million yuan. But when you set up Shenghui Lighting in 1997, you were engaged in the production of ordinary light source devices. Under what kind of opportunity did you come into contact with LED products and entered the industry?
Shen Jinxiang: It is also an accident that I entered this industry. I first came into contact with the term LED in a professional magazine. I read the article to describe it very promising. Based on this information, I have consulted some experts. Their answer is that this industry is very promising, but when it can be spread out in large areas, no one can say. I patted my head and went to the project.
In fact, this project started to invest in 2002. So far, there is no surplus. I basically invested all the money in R&D, sales and brand building, and even invested in investment. However, I believe this industry is very promising. A director of the Ministry of Science and Technology told me that you can do 100 years in the LED industry.
Moderator: In the case that the industrialization prospects are not very clear, do you have a bottom in the industry when you enter the industry? When do you expect LEDs to generate profits for you?
Shen Jinxiang: Maybe because of the young, ignorant people are fearless. At that time, I was only three or four years old, and I didn’t have much accumulation. I took all the profits of the factory to do this project. I didn’t think about what would happen if I didn’t succeed. Until October 2003, the Ministry of Science and Technology set up a semiconductor lighting leading group, and began to vigorously promote LED, and successively introduced industrial support policies.
Moderator: LED is generally used in large-scale lighting landscape projects. What is the difference between it and the energy-saving lamps on the market?
Shen Jinxiang: The difference between LED and ordinary energy-saving lamps is very big. The first is a longer life, about 30,000 hours, the average energy-saving lamp is 6000 hours, and the incandescent lamp is 2000 hours. In terms of energy saving effect, it is similar to energy-saving lamps, 5 to 10 times higher than incandescent lamps. However, from the perspective of the consumption of ordinary people, the current price of LED is still high.
Moderator: How much is the price difference between an LED light and an energy-saving lamp?
Shen Jinxiang: At least 5 times more, this is the biggest difficulty for its promotion.
Some people may ask, why does the country encourage energy-saving lamps and do not encourage LEDs? In fact, the LEDs in the relevant documents are also within the scope of encouragement, just because LEDs currently do not have national standards, and even the ability to judge whether the products are good or bad is not available. Recommended by the public. Now we are participating in the development of this standard, and we are ready to approve it at the end of the year. Only a standard country can have big moves.
In addition, with the upgrading of the industry, the production cost of LEDs will definitely decline in the next three to five years. Experts predict that its brightness can be increased by 20% per year, while the cost is reduced by 20% per year. By that time, LEDs may be very close to the public.
