At present, users are becoming more and more aware of Internet TV and their popularity has increased. Is the OTT market the Red Sea or the Blue Ocean? In the future family market, how do TV screens locate? What is Lenovo's smart family strategy? During the GFIC2017 Global Home Internet Conference, the reporter conducted an exclusive interview with Wei Jin, general manager of Lenovo Group’s smart TV product marketing on the above topics.

Split or will become a trend, TV will play more roles
With technological breakthroughs, the interconnection of home devices has become a general trend. But apart from television, there are small AIs like Xiaomi, Lynx, including Echo from Amazon. These terminals are also playing the role of “entrance†for family interaction. How will TV develop in the future and what role positioning?
Wei always said that traditional television may disappear and split TV may become the future. At present, many people think that in the era of smart homes, smart speakers will be a very good entrance. As a voice command collector, there may be one in each room in the home. However, one characteristic of TVs is that TV screens and homes are naturally bundled. Under such usage scenarios, users can use TVs to realize the functions of smart speakers. With the demand for high-definition display, the user's demand for intelligence is also increasing. Therefore, split TV will be able to meet these two requirements very well, and the screen will pay more attention to the display effect. TV hosts use AI, IoT, cloud computing and other technologies to achieve home control and other functions. The future does not necessarily require a smart speaker in the bedroom. It can be replaced directly with the TV host in the bedroom or living room.
In the role of television in the future family, Wei always believes that future television devices must be connected to smart homes, and television will be the core of the home Internet unit. Perhaps television does not necessarily become a "center," and smart homes should be decentralized in the future. It is very difficult to form a center around a terminal device.
Open up smart home devices to help Lenovo's TV innovation
Lenovo has entered the market for seven years as an invader for the TV industry. This year, Lenovo put forward a special reason for the Lenovo smart home strategy.
With the arrival of the home Internet, family devices are sufficient to manage each other, including IoT devices, and traditional home appliances have also become manageable and controllable. With the formation of so many devices, TV hardware is no longer an island. Wei Zong said that from this perspective, the complexity of television competition is extremely high, and the future competition should be extended to the entire smart family or the interconnection of smart homes.
To realize smart homes, Wei proposed three bottlenecks that may be encountered:
First, there are many equipment and service accounts. TV as a device, there will be an account, but the family is not a device, there are several devices, each device will have an account, password, very complex, as well as the management of membership rights.
Second, the equipment is not easy to control. In the era of interoperability, all devices in the home are connected to the home network. This realizes interconnection and interoperability. However, it is not easy to connect and is not easy to communicate. It is also a very big obstacle and affects the entire popularity of smart homes.
Third, there is a fragmentation between similar service devices. For the same type of service, the flow between devices is fragmented. For example, if you watch TV at home, sometimes use a PC, go out and use a mobile phone pad. The videos seen in these devices will be broken and will not be able to be disconnected. Identify the user.
In order to solve these problems, Lenovo used its own large group of genes to propose a smart family strategy.
General Wei said that Lenovo's smart TV, as a TV hardware, can rely on the big platform of Lenovo's entire company, and it has a huge advantage in the competition for upscaling. Lenovo has the advantages of a wide range of devices, including smart TVs, mobile phones, tablets, smart audio and other home products. Lenovo has sales in the market, including air-conditioning and refrigerator products certified with third parties, which are all part of Lenovo's entire ecosystem. .
Lenovo not only manages TV users, but also has developed “Smart Lenovo†applications. This is a huge user management system. ID will open up all Lenovo’s smart devices and manage content and services based on Lenovo’s user accounts. Makes content and services seamlessly migrate to multiple types of smart products such as computers, mobile phones, tablets, smart TVs, and smart speakers. Of course, Lenovo TV will be the core hardware business and will also join the hardware management system.
"User + equipment + service" UDS mode to achieve TV competition
New generations of information technologies such as the Internet of Things, cloud computing, big data and artificial intelligence are setting off a wave in the global arena. Undoubtedly, the new era will inevitably bring new challenges and will also provide more opportunities. What is the thinking of Lenovo's competition in the new era? How to achieve?
Focusing on the current operational thinking of Lenovo TV, Wei said that Lenovo has now formed a UDS model and formed a new triangle based on the three-dimensional thinking of “User User+Device+Service Serviceâ€. In simple terms, when conceiving a product, it is not simply to talk about the device itself, but also to think about what services it encompasses around a device, what are the user groups surrounding the device, and whether there is any correlation between the device and the device. To.
The necessity for building a UDS model is always analyzed by Wei:
Wei always said that only by making accurate portraits of users can the unified management of users be realized. Future users' portraits will not only center on the TV device itself, but will also be based on the user's use of the devices in the home and the services enjoyed on the device.
According to the user's portrait engine, the static data and dynamic data of the user are obtained. The static data includes data such as television type, video classification, user ID, gender, and region. The dynamic data includes user viewing behavior, video browsing, operation frequency, application download, etc. data. Standardized processing through data modeling, to achieve accurate portraits of users, and then follow the user's image of the framework, Lenovo to design their own products, a comprehensive layout of selling points.
According to the service aggregation engine, it provides users with accurate personalized content recommendations, automated precision marketing, and targeted data value-added services. Through the UDS model, and then through the application window of "smart association", users will eventually enjoy a new life in the future smart home.
Consolidate the foundation of smart TV hardware, and develop intelligent development in the future
Wei said that in reality, the basic skills of television are still equipment. The framework of the system is simply set up well. If the support of each single product is not enough, it will not work.
Lenovo released the 17TV series in the Lenovo smart TV at the end of March this year. The Lenovo TV 17TV 65i3 product is a 65-inch screen. It is very smart and is completely an intelligent host embedded in it. In addition to the television itself, the far-field voice interaction can be very intelligent. At the same time, the smart TV can be used to easily control some lamps and air conditioners in the laboratory. This is Lenovo's first generation of smart products, but also the future direction.
General Wei said that based on Lenovo's television, its core competitiveness is still in the device itself, the future will be more emphasis on its intelligence and interaction, manipulation. Therefore, we need to do a smart module, and on the basis of strengthening intelligent voice interaction, we can achieve interconnection and interoperability with multiple devices in an intelligent home, as well as interaction, management, and control. This is Lenovo's next step in the next few years. Time.
DIN Cables
There are many different versions of DIN Connectors. The name of each type comes from the number of pins the connector has (3-pin DIN, 4-pin DIN, etc.) Some of these pin numbers come in different configurations, with the pins arranged differently from one configuration to the next.
