Fig. 012 The access point defined in the PG/PC interface must match the logical device name of the MPI channel. For example, if you are using an "S7ONLINE" access point, you must set up the PG/PC interface on the MPI communication processor. Open the setup PG/PC interface program in the system settings. Select "S7ONLINE" as the access point and then select the MPI communication processor. If it does not appear in the options dialog, you can install it using the "Select..." button.

3 There must be a communication channel. Open the WinCC project and add the channel to the variable list. To do this, right-click on the "Add new driver" dialog and install the WinCC communication driver "SIMATIC S7 Protocol Suite.CHN".

4 The access point must be correct. If the access point "S7ONLINE" is selected in step 2, the logical device name of the MPI channel is also set to "S7ONLINE". Double-click the "SIMATIC S7 Protocol Suit.CHN" communication driver and select the channel. Click the right mouse button to open the "System Parameters" dialog. In the dialog box, select the logical device name "S7ONLINE".

5 Then click the right mouse button to add a new connection to the S7 or S7 program, and then take a connection name. For example: "S7Program_AS1".

6 Set the properties of the connection. Click on "Properties" and set the connection parameters. In this example, the MPI address of the CPU is "30" and the ID of the MPI segment is "0". The CPU is inserted into the rack at position 0, slot 3.
