Google Duo iOS latest, Android download exceeded 5 million

In this year's Google IO general meeting, Google officially released two applications of social property, were Allo and Duo.

As a video calling application, Google Duo launched the Google play application market on August 16. Soon after coming online, Duo received a warm welcome from users and continued to dominate the Google Play app market download list. Within a week, Duo on Android has already gained 5 million downloads. Yesterday, Google CEO Sandal Pachachi announced this achievement on Twitter.

On August 25, Google Duo also launched the iOS version. However, Duo still can't escape the fate of the quilt wall. Users must go over the wall to experience Duo's own video call service.

Duo is a simple and elegant video calling application. After the user's registration is successful, click the "Video Call" button to select the desired friend from the personal address book. In terms of interactive experience, Duo allows users to view the real-time video of the initiator before the video call is connected.

Call quality is a key point for video call applications.

In order to ensure that Duo can also achieve excellent video performance in a low-quality network environment, Google uses the new QUIC and WebRTC Web Real-Time Communication technologies. According to Google, QUIC is a low latency UDP-based Internet transport layer protocol developed by Google . WebRTC technology can support web browsers for real-time voice conversations or video conversations. It is precisely because of these two major communication technologies that it ensures that Duo needs less data and video is more stable and clear.
