BOE joins Hefei government and Chaohu City to build a 8.5 million line
It is reported that both parties have decided to invest in a 8.5-generation full-process production line of thin film transistor liquid crystal display devices (TFT-LCD) in Hefei, Anhui Province, to produce TFT-LCD displays and modules of 55†and below. The production line is expected to be in 2014. The company officially put into operation in the first quarter of the year; the two parties agreed to use Hefei Xinhao Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. as the investment, construction and operation platform of the production line project. The total investment of the project is 28.5 billion yuan.
BOE said that after the completion of the Hefei 8.5 belt line project, the overall scale and overall competitiveness of the company will be further enhanced. This will help improve the competition and comprehensive strength of liquid crystal display products required by BOE LCD TVs, help to enhance its ability to withstand market fluctuations, and effectively enhance the domestic flat panel display industry's right to speak in the international market.
