With the explosion of Pokemon Go, people gradually realized that AR technology can be widely used among ordinary people. Many APP developers are also thinking about how to use AR technology to occupy market opportunities. Recently, a tombstone company in Japan has taken a different path and came up with a slightly different idea. They have developed an AR Graveyard App that allows you to "talk" with the deceased's loved ones.
This incredible application is called Spot message. According to the "Japan Times," this is a company in Katori City, Chiba Prefecture, Japan, emulating the mobile game Pokemon Go, using AR and GPS satellite positioning technology to launch AR applications. Through the Spot message, the user can hear the deceased's last words and even “see†his figure when visiting the cemeteries, the Skull Pagoda and the memorable sights of the deceased relatives and friends. The effect of "The dead have gone and the voice is still in" is felt in person.
In order to be able to fulfill this desire, this requires the user to record a video of the deceased before the deceased, and set some specific locations. Later, when the user visits these places where the deceased had visited again, he can see the scene and what happened by the Spot message App.
Yoshiyuki Katori, general manager of the company, said that the idea was to realize his dream of "letting deceased relatives stay with me forever."
“My uncle died in an accident eight years ago. His death was so sudden and it brought a huge impact on our entire family. He is a person I respect very much and has a great influence on me. So I He often went to talk to him at his grave, but he was confronted with cold gravestones.Every time at his tomb, I was thinking if he could say 'say' to me. This is the beginning of our research and development of the Spot message."
Later, Katori thought of using this popular Augmented Reality technology, combined with GPS satellite positioning to achieve this dream, so there is this AR Graveyard application.
Because people nowadays choose to be buried in more diverse ways, some people will choose intangible graveyards such as sea burial or tree burial. This software uses GPS to reproduce the audio and video of the deceased, so it can be used both in Japan and around the world. For example, a person who wishes to sprinkle his own ashes into the Hawaiian sea can come back to recalling memories with his loved ones on his mobile phone when he arrives at the shore of the ashes.
It is understood that any user can download Spot message, but free users can only save 10 videos, and if the user is registered as an ordinary member, you only need to pay 500 yen (about 33 yuan) can store up to 30 videos .
The company said that since the Spot message was launched on the Android market on Monday, it has been downloaded by more than 100 people on its first day. The iOS version will also be launched in early September.
